Corona virus: Virus decreasing pollution

The recent outbreak of corona vius has affected millions of lives and have created lockdown in countries across the globe. The world is going through a really tough time in many ways especially in terms of economy.


Now as per reports in this drastic situation an unexpected news has came which has something to cheer about because that is regarding pollution. The news is that after the outbreak of corona virus the pollution rates in quarantined countries have decreased. China's Ministry of Ecology And Environment have released a new data on air quality which states that due to corona virus the number of good quality air days have increased by 21.5% in february as compared to last year. And recent satellite images are proof of that.

 China, which is known as the biggest source of air pollution in the world contributes around 30% of world's CO2 emmision annually. But in recent span of four weeks the level of PM2.5 which is used to measure small particles fell 25% in China and  nitrogen dioxide gas which is produced due to cars and factories fell by 40% .


Same is the case with Italy and Honkong. Images came from European Space Agency which also shows decrease in pollution rate ther.

These changes are due to stopping of airplanes, miniminal use of automobiles and Industrial work which is considered as major source of air pollution.
